As Chairman of the All Party Group for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, it's a pleasure to work with my fellow MPs from across the area for people across the area. One example is education. We all want the best possible schools for our local children.

Tell Ranil in Hook

It was so great to meet lots of local people from Hook, Rotherwick and surrounding villages this evening at my latest "Tell Ranil" public meeting. There were no shortage of questions, covering the widest range of topics!

Tell Ranil in Monk Sherborne

Ranil Jayawardena, Member of Parliament for North East Hampshire held a public meeting in Monk Sherborne Village Hall for residents to raise the issues that matter to them on Friday 17th February.

A flying visit to the Air Ambulance

On Friday 10th February, Ranil Jayawardena, Member of Parliament for North East Hampshire, visited the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Ambulance at Thruxton Airport, Hampshire.

Fleet Library Refurbishment

Ranil Jayawardena, M.P. is delighted that Fleet library is to undergo significant refurbishment this year. The improvements include an independent entrance, new self-service equipment and an extension to the much loved children’s library.

Ranil and Alison celebrate birth of baby girl

It is with great pleasure that Ranil and his wife announce the birth of their second daughter, Violet, who was born on 13th January at the Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, weighing 8Ibs.

Promoting local beer

Ranil Jayawardena, M.P. for North East Hampshire, has recently nominated Little London Brewery to provide a guest beer for Strangers’ Bar in the Houses of Parliament. When on sale, it will be enjoyed by Parliamentarians as well as guests from across the country and overseas.

Pothole Action Fund

Ranil Jayawardena, M.P. has welcomed news that local road-users will benefit from a dedicated £2,123,000 pothole fund. This is part of a £1.2 billion fund for local roads that the Conservative Government is allocating to councils to repair and rebuild our transport links. 

Working with Hampshire Constabulary

Policing is a key issue in our area, so recently I met Hampshire Constabulary at Hart District Council offices in Fleet and went out 'on the beat' in Upton Grey.
